Simpang Lima Darat principal Mazlan Ahmad said he had extended the invitation to Kay Hian because the schools were partners in the Students Integration for Unity Programme.
He said students from both schools got to know each other and exchange ideas on a wide range of topics during the programme.
Mazlan said students from Kay Hian got the opportunity to learn more about Malay culture, such as the kind of foods that were served and the attire that was worn during Hari Raya.
"Students from both schools get to interact while feasting on a Hari Raya spread that was prepared for the occasion."
Kay Hian principal Chua Kean Soon said the invitation meant a lot to him and his students. He said the festive atmosphere was perfect for fostering friendship and unity among the students.
"Programmes like this are a good way to promote the 1Malaysia spirit brought forth by our prime minister to foster greater unity among the various races in Malaysia," he said.
